Peacock tail costume ideas for Halloween
Instructions
1
Purchase a plastic folding fan to serve as the base of your peacock tail. Avoid using wood and paper folding fans because they are not as sturdy and may fall apart while you wear the costume.
2
Open the fan and place it on a work surface covered in newspaper.
3
Draw a vertical line of hot glue on the fan with a hot glue gun. Use the plastic supports in the fan as a guide when applying the glue.
4
Press a peacock feather into the hot glue immediately so that the bottom of the feather is just above the bottom center of the fan. The top of the peacock feather will extend far above the top of the fan.
5
Continue to glue peacock feathers to the fan until you are satisfied with the appearance and fullness of your peacock tail. Let the hot glue dry overnight.
6
Thread a piece of 6-gauge craft wire around one of the outer arms of the plastic fan. Don't be afraid to push the wire through the fabric of the fan if necessary.
7
Lay the peacock tail on top of a belt with the right side of the tail facing up. Wrap both ends of the craft wire around the belt and twist the ends together with pliers to secure the peacock tail to the belt.
8
Repeat the last two steps with the opposite outer arm of the plastic fan. The peacock tailThe peacock tail can be attached to any costume by wearing the belt.
